About us

Since 1918, our family has owned and been located in our building on the northwest corner of Queen and Lambton Streets in downtown Kincardine and has served the area in the retail market by owning and operating a grocery store, an appliance store, a restaurant (Tea n’ That), and a bedding store. In 1983, Dave joined London Life and opened a "storefront" office in the west end of the building. In 2005, Bill joined the office, and we incorporated the business as Shewfelt Financial. For almost 40 years, Shewfelt Financial has offered local financial security advice and wealth management strategies to our clients as though they were part of our family.

After completing my BA at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, my Bachelor of Education degree at Brock University and several comprehensive training programs related to the financial services business, I joined Freedom 55 Financial.

As a financial security advisor, I’m dedicated to educating the general public and providing complete financial security planning packages to our clients, in order to help them realize their long-term financial goals based on their personal situations. We offer a full range of financial security planning products including life insurance, critical illness insurance, disability insurance, retirement products and mortgages. My clients have found a great deal of value in going through a complete planning process to identify the issues and needs around their financial security.

I look forward to having the opportunity to help our clients realize their financial goals, to build relationships with my clients and to actively participate in the betterment of our community.

Brenda is a graduate of Westervelt Business College. She worked in the banking industry for 10 years before joining my office in 1992 as an administrative assistant. Over the years her role has expanded and she is now our personal customer assistant manager and office manager.

Brenda believes in providing professional client service as well as a friendly environment for all of our clients.
